The Morris Historical Society Gets A New Home

Donations are welcome!

The former home of the American Legion in Morris has been donated to the Morris Historical Society. It needs some work to be converted to use by the society.

Lived in my village of Morris home for 24 years before I noticed this thermometer hanging on a nail driven into a post in the basement.

On May 11, 1892, E. E. Steele moved into the village of Garrattsville.

Two teams brought his goods from Edmeston through mud up to the wagon hubs much of the way. Mr. Steele bought out the Edward Lewis Hardware opposite Card's Mill.

Linn Factory Water Wheel and Power Plant

In 2018 Gary Fisher shared this information he got from his father George Fisher who worked at the Linn Factory.

Some George Fisher photos of Linn Tractor Plant waterwheel, tools and power plant Thought I would share some that I just found. George Fisher was foreman of the carpentry shop on the fair grounds end of the main plant. Water wheel main shaft for belt driven machinery before electricity were used.
