Charle P. Alle, Mohican Bus Lines
Photo and comments courtesy of Rene Elliott and other contributors
We don't have a picture of the buses (Alle had a Mack and White he sold when Greyhound took over and then they used the Greyhound Flexible buses, now it's Pine Hill lines), just of these extended sedans he ran when traffic was light. Oneonta to Kingston and back in one day (23 and 23A) was quite a trip. Around 1945 he went to the less stressful job of driving tractor trailer for Oneonta Oil & Fuel hauling from the Port of Albany and back sometimes six days a week.

I also remember your grandfather Raymond (Sammy nickname I think.) I admired his occupation as a Greyhound bus driver. In those days it held the esteem of aircraft pilots nowadays.
