James Martindale
One of the best known residents of Morris, James Martindale, whose serious condition at the Albany hospital was noted in yesterday's STAR, died, at that institution, at 10:30 o'clock Sunday night, aged 32 years. The body was brought to Oneonta on train 5 last evening, and will be taken to Morris to-day and the funeral will be held n Morris on Wednesday, at 12 pm, and interment will be made at Hillington cemetery.
Mr. Martindale was born in the town of Oneonta and was the son of Isaac V. Martindale of West Oneonta. He lived in West Laurens for 23 years prior to his removal to Morris seven years ago. Mr. Martindale had a wide acquaintance in this section, by all of whom he was recognized as a man of sterling integrity and one whose word was carefully given but, once given, was even more carefully kept. His death will be deplored by all who knew him.
His wife, Jennie Hayward, a sister of E.A. Hayward esq. of Oneonta, and one son Charles, of Morris, survive him, also his parents and one sister, Mrs. Amelia Ferry of West Oneonta.
