Larry Gardner, II, Family Scrapbook, part 2

Lula Southwick

Lula Southwick, 74, of New Berlin died Tuesday, January 10, in Jones Nursing Home, Oneonta, where she had been a patient for the past several days.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday, January 14, in Sloan's Funeral Home, Morris, 5 the Rev. Winsred Lyon, pastor of the Morris Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be later in Hillington Cemetery, Morris.
She was born July 5, 1886, at Sherburne, the daughter of George and Georgia (Morey) Dixby. She was married Oct. 31, 1901, at New Berlin to Clyde Southwick.
Mrs. Southwick, a resident of Morris for many years, had recently moved to New Berlin, where she resided with her son, Clyde. She was a member of the Morris Methodist Church.
Besides her son, she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Alice Gardner and Mrs. Gladys Lamb, both of Morris; Mrs. Clara Murphy, Prattsville; and Mrs. Charlotte Holden, South New Berlin.
Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience. The family will be in attendance from 7-9 p. m. Friday,

Southwick Funeral Held

Largely attended funeral services for Clyde Southwick, 57, were conducted at the Sloan funeral parlors Tuesday afternoon by Iev. H. E. Danielson of the Morris Baptist church. Bearers were fellow workers from the Manor House farms with whom Mr. Southwick had been closely associated for many years. They were: J. L. Miller, manager; David Adams. Leon Card, John Breffle, Ellery Linn, and Glen Marble. Interment was in Hillington cemetery.
Among the many flowers were pieces from Mrs. L. R. Morris, Manor House farm employes, Morris Baptist church, guild of Gilbertsville, the Grove, and neighbors.
Those attending from out of town were Henry Morey, New Berlin: Mr. and Mrs. George Bailey, Mt. Upton; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Keither, Edmeston; H. Lambert, DeLancey; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Holden, Gilbertsville; Ciare Southwick, Walton.
Owing to ill health, two halfbrothers, Fred Southwick of Oneida and Warren Clader of Edmeston, were unable to attend.

Warren B. Calder Of Edmeston Dies

Edmeston-Funeral services for Warren B. Calder, 77, who died yesterday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Keith, West St., will be held at the Keith residence Friday at 2 p. m. Burial will be beside the grave of his wife at the Unadilla Forks cemetery.
Mr. Calder had been ill for some weeks. He was born in Sherburne, son of John and LeBena Calder. He married Mary Jane Ellis of Sherburne in May, 1896. She died in June, 1938.
He had retired as a railroad employee and had resided in Edmeston for the past 20 years.
Besides Mrs. Keith he is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Charles Marriott of Richfield Springs, and several grandchildren.

Harvey Weldon Gardner

Much sympathy is felt for Mr, and Mrs. Weldon Gardner of West Morris in the loss of their only child, an eight months' son, who died Friday noon, Feb. 15, at the home of Mrs. Gardner's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Southwick, of Grove Street, Morris, from the effects of a complication of diseases after an illness of less than a week's duration.
Harvey Weldon Gardner, only child of Weldon and Alice (Southwick) Gardner, was born in the village of Morris June 10, 1934. The little boy was an exceptionally bright, active child and had won a warm place in the hearts of all who knew him.
Immediate surviving relatives other than the bereaved parents are the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Southwick and Deloss Gardner of Morris; three uncles; four aunts and numerous cousins, to all of whom sincere sympathy is extended at this time.
The funeral services, conducted by the Rev. F. G. Leonard of the Universalist church, were held from Sloan's Funeral parlors on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment was in the family plot on the new part of Hillington cemetery.
Those attending the services from out-of-town included relatives and friends from New Berlin, South New Berlin, Bainbridge and Pittsfield.

Gardner Infant Dies at
Home of Grandparents

Morris, Feb. 18-Harvey Weldon Cardner, eight-months-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Gardner, died at noon Friday at the home of the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Southwick, Grove street. He had been ill for a week of a complication of diseases. Their only child, he was born here June 10. In addition to the parents and maternal grandparents, he leaves his grandfather, Deloss Gardner.
The funeral, conducted by Rev. F. Leonard of the Universalist church, is held from Sloan's funeral parlors
2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, and interment was made in the family lot in the new part of Hillington Cemetery. Friends from New Berlin, Couth New Berlin, Bainbridge and Pittsfield attended.

INFANT DIES

Angels again came to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Southwick and took their darling baby, Edith Madeline, Friday, Nov. 26th. If she had lived until Sunday she would have been 10 months old. All was done for their darling baby that physician, nurse and loving hands could do, but nothing could make her comfortable and she passed away at 6 o'clock. The funeral was held at their home Monday at 1 o'clock, Rev. F. G. Leonard officiating and burial was made in Hillington Cemetery.

A stork shower was given Mrs. Gould. Games were enjoyed during the afternoon and refreshments were served.

Delos Gardner

MORRIS--Delos Gardner, 87, a lifelong resident of the Morris area, died yesterday at Chase Memorial Hospital, New Berlin.
Funeral services will be held 2 p. m. Saturday in Morris, the Rev. Carlton Fawcett, pastor of South New Berlin Methodist Church, officiating. The body will be placed in Hilling ton Cemetery vault or burial later.
Mr. Gardner was born Aug. 14, 1864. in the Town of Morris, a son of Frederick and Emma (Jacox) Gardner. On March 27. 1886, he married Henrietta Sargeant of Morris.
He was a farmer by occupation and lived for many years in both Morris and South New Berlin. He was a member of the South New Berlin Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Henry. of Middleburgh, and Weldon, of South New Berlin: one daughter, Mrs. Reuben Miller, of Morris Township: lone brother. Fred, of South New Berlin: one sister. Mrs. John Turner: several grandI children. great grandchildren land one great-great grandchild.
