The snowmobile bridge on Spring St across the Butternut Creek

How many people remember walking or snowmobiling across the suspension bridge across the Butternut Creek? It connected Olds Rd with East River Rd. My father, my sister-in-law, and my wife are shown crossing the bridge in this photo that dates to around 1981 or so.

My uncle owned the farm there and we used to swim there and snag some of the ears of corn (yes, it was cow corn) and have corn and potato roasts under the bridge..Mid 60's.

Kristen Martin Yes -- it was built by the snowmobile club as far as I know. Barry BarryElaine Frederick should be able to provide some details if they see this thread.

Bob Thomas it was originally build just above the old bridge but got damaged by a flood. by then the iron bridge had been moved so we rebuilt it on the original bridge abutment. it was around 1979
