Rene Elliott's research:
7 Oct 1888 - J.P. Kenyon sold the corner store $3000. To J.A. Ward, but a 11 July 1888 edition includes J.A. Ward & Co. in advertisers. 30 April 1879 it was J.P. Kenyon when he was selling Dr. Fenner’s patent medicines.
9 Jan. 1891 -Otsego Farmer - Sheriff Ward & Wife, just before leaving town (Morris) for Cooperstown were given a surprise going away party by our citizens and given a silver ice pitcher and drinking cup as tokens of their esteem.
25 Feb 1895 - Court proceedings Menzo House vs. John A. Ward, Sheriff, trial postponed until next circuit.
13 Dec 1895 - Oneonta Star says ex-Sheriff Ward of Morris to move there and buy 1/2 interest in a business.
