July 5, 1876 The Morris Chronicle
Rene Elliott clipped these from The Morris Chronicle. He also wrote this
" Not as much Centennial theme as I had hoped, but I was not aware of the Jackson incident, any guess where two miles from the “settlement”on the Butternut Creek would be? First I heard of it, no idea where burial would have been, or where Jackson lived. And a runaway wagon wreck in Little’s backyard. The following edition, July 12, had coverage of events, mostly speeches/picnics in Oneonta, New Berlin, Gilbertsville. A Benjamin burned his hand on a rocket in Garrattsville, and they had a picnic in “Hume’s Grove” there.
