1910 D.W. Hull Running Morris Hotel

D.W. Hull running the Morris Hotel as shown by this postcard with May 22, 1910 written on the back.

GARDNER HOUSE SOLD

Daniel W. Hull of Oneonta was in Morris yesterday and completed his purchase of the Gardner House in this village, one of the most desirable hotel properties in Central New York. Mr. Hull and wife are experienced in the hotel business, and our people can only ask that they keep the house up to the Gardner House standard, maintained for more than thirty years. They come today, but will not assume full possession until October 1st. Mrs. Gardner will remain until after the Fair.

Mrs. Gardner has been landlady of this house thirteen years, and during the past ten years has had but ten days' vacation. The death of Mr. Gardner last winter threw the burden of a large business upon her alone, and she is now looking forward with pleasurable anticipations to a well earned rest. Miss Bell will also remain in charge of the dining room until after the Fair.

1910 Morris Fair Book included this advertisement, I would guess this is the same taxi that Dr. Morris had sponsored, one of the largest automobiles, and passenger car engine, of the day, a Peerless that was also photographed on the stone bridge down by the Morris Manor.
