1977 Lynn Harris marks 30 years with US Post Office

Many Morris people remember longtime postmaster Lynn Harris. In this photo and article from Dec. 1977, he marks 30 years with the Morris Post Office. Take note of the customers at the window, too. As near as I can tell Lynn Harris remained postmaster until he retired in 1983. Many thanks to Mary Valentine for supplying the clipping.

The post office used to have a different facade.

In 1965 Lynn Harris got this telegram from US Senator Jacob Javits of New York during the process of his nomination to the position of postmaster for Morris, NY.
